Lore

Character Biography:

Female, aged 24.

Her name was Shirley. Her starving parents sold her off to a cult for 10 loaves of bread.

The cultists offered her to an ancient evil god. The god, instead of devouring her, chose her and gave her his dark blessing.

Shirley wanted to punish the cultists, but the power of the evil god that had taken root in her soul corrupted her. She became a dark priestess of the cult.

The corrupt Shirley sacrificed young children to keep her evil god happy. Her god rewarded her with his power of darkness.

Later, she changed her name to Dieuleve, which had been given to her by her evil god, and joined Kashipa. There, she earned her
superiors' recognition through ruthlessness and her power of darkness.

Currently, she's the leader of Gray, Kashipa's middle-grade rooting unit.

History

During her past life, Dieuleve was born under the name Shirley and lived in poverty with her parents, until they sold her to a fanatic group in exchange for bread. She was going to be sacrificed to an ancient devil god called Verato only to be chosen by him and would be baptized as she waited for the day to vow vengeance on her parents.

As she grew older, Shirley would begin sacrificing children and offered their blood to her god so she could become one with him, but this wasn't enough to appease him. She would later head to Harlem joining the Kashipa's ranks without hesitation now going under her new name given by the devil god, Dieuleve.

As the Adventurer heads into Total Eclipse from Border Town battling Kashipa merchants and rescuing slaves, they first hear about Dieuleve when spoken to by an elder individual mentioning that she doesn't visit the market very often, but dozens of slaves die every time she does and is powerful as a goddess. Cobb, one of those slaves that they came across earlier in their journey said that he was going to be sacrificed by Dieuleve who later overhears her voice worshiping her god.

When confronted, Dieuleve is ordered by Verato to kill the Adventurer, but loses to them. A Shadowmancer and Low-ranking Summoner appear to see if she is alright, except that she kills those two to fuel her powers despite finding their sacrifices nasty. Frustrated by the lack of help she's receiving from the demon god, Dieuleve decides to prepare another bloody ritual for him by sacrificing more slaves in the process. She confronts the Adventurer for a second time now transforming into her Pugnator form only to be defeated again, putting an end to the bloodthirsty priestess' actions.
