Before the Great Metastasis, big and small Metastasis occurred frequently across Arad, driving monsters mad and cursing some Humans with the Ghost Arm. The Emperor wanted the power of the Metastasis, so he ordered secret experiments to be carried out. That's how Vilmark - Area 50 was built.

They're not only responsible for random Metastasis, but they've inflicted too much pain on too many people." Bwanga: "I see. Then you should go to Underfoot. Information is abundant in which there's a large crowd." Michelle: "You're leaving. I didn't have a chance to properly thank you for all your help... I've learned a lot and became stronger because of you. Stay safe wherever you are. And let me know anytime if I can help you."

It seems to Annis, Behemoth is just a cute whale that flies in the sky, even though I try to tell her that's not true.) By the way, you mentioned someone. Who's Brother Vaughn?" Annis: "A friend of mine introduced him to me, and he's an Imperial Knight. At first I called him Sir Knight to be polite, and he got upset because he thought I thought he looked scary. He told me to call him Brother Vaughn instead, so..." <Player>: "..." Annis: "...? What's wrong? Oh, do you want to meet Brother Vaughn? He's arrived in Underfoot a while ago. Vaughn: "My deputy went to discuss some urgent matter with the Dark Elf queen. So, you're coming with me, right?" <Player>: "(...I thought usually the head honcho, not his second-in-command, would do something so important like that.) I want to know what I'm getting into. I'll decide if I want to help afterward." Vaughn: "Boy, you're cold. All right, but this has to be kept secret. If it gets out, your life could be in danger. I'm taking you instead of one of my lieutenants because what I'm about to do cannot be known, even to the people of my own empire. We'll be conducting an investigation on the abandoned testing ground of my empire to find a possible cause for all the strange phenomena." <Player>: "If it's so secret, then why do you want to take an adventurer like me?" Vaughn: "Cost issues. It's hard to replace my lieutenants, but adventurers like you come a dime a dozen. And I need help." <Player>: "..." Vaughn: "So, what will be your condition? Ah, let me guess: you want me to find a way to get to Empyrean. If you have found it, you wouldn't be here, walking around aimlessly. I know something that can help you. Dungeon Dialogue	In-Dungeon Dialogue Upon Arriving in Vilmark - Area 50: If player isn't a Female Slayer: <Player>: "A testing ground... What the hell happened in here?" Vaughn: "Something really disturbing. Let's move on." If player is a Female Slayer: <Player>: "...The air is thick with some unpleasant energy." (It hasn't changed much since the last time I was here.) Vaughn: "Something really disturbing happened. Let's move on."
Upon Completion	Completion Dialogue Vaughn: "We looked around that place at least once. ...What's wrong? You look pale. Are you intoxicated by the bad energy in the place or what? Hah hah, you're more sensitive than you look, aren't you?" <Player>: "That place gives me the creeps. I want to know why you took me there." Vaughn: "A long time ago, some wackos in my empire conducted some strange experiment. It was right after Apostle Sirocco appeared, so I guess they were trying to create biological weapons against Apostles like her. But experiments like that are bound to fail and often costs many innocent lives. His Majesty was so furious that he executed the prime movers of the experiment and shut down the testing ground. The experiment was such a disgrace to the Empire that it's been kept secret from the general populace. That's why I was apprehensive about taking my lieutenants along. ...You didn't take my joke about budget issues seriously, did you? Don't you know how much I like you? Anyway, the testing ground was shut down and left neglected for a while. But then I've found out its defense system is still in operation. That's why I needed your help. Are we clear now?"

Where did you find it?" <Player>: "(I can't tell her about Area 50.) I found it by accident. Its glow caught my eyes. I've been looking for someone who can tell me about it." Iris: "I see. I know terranite because I'm from Pandemonium. It's only natural that everyone else in this place has no idea about the substance. It's been a long time since the last time I saw terranite.
