Story Excerpt:

(True dragon, Itrenog)

Move Set

Phase 1 ~ 2

  • Earth Tremor: Itrenok's core pattern throughout all three phases of his entire fight. He'll get into a charging position with the casting gauge above him. Once the gauge is filled, he'll begin stomping the ground that not only deals a considerable amount of damage, but will constantly use this pattern in different variations towards later phases, especially one that's literally a take on Male Grappler's Basaltic Twister.png Basaltic Twister.
  • Unstable Ground: Each time that Itrenok does any of his Earth Tremor-related patterns, there'll be several green circles on the ground that can be restabilized, by simply staying on them for a few seconds. However, any unattended circles can change red upon his Tremor attack that can drain HP and inflicts Slow Down (Status).png Slow (Status) on coming into contact when stepping on one.
  • Heel Strike: Itrenok lifts his leg, charges up and slams it down on the ground. Afterward, a large rock protrudes from above and goes airborne for a bit before he'll kick it forward.
  • Tail Whip: Within close range, he can perform a spinning 360-degree rotation with his tail. Upon Phases 2 ~ 3, the pattern will produce dust clouds that can inflict a Blind (Status).png Blind (Status) towards anyone who's hit by them.
  • Windmill Spin: Itrenok gets into a charging position as he performs a spinning handstand attack. During Phase 1, he'll go in one X or Y-Axis direction, In later phases, this pattern is extended for much longer, being able to chase down random party members.
  • Lion's Roar: Similar to the Male Nen Master's version of this skill, Itrenok gets into a charging stance and launches out a frontal battle cry. While this can easily be avoided by staying behind him, coming into contact with the attack's range can damage anyone and pushes them back.
  • Pursuit Rush: Very identical to patterns that Wordsworth or Lava Monster Worm uses, Itrenok gets into a position and tries following a random player to rush at them. If he collides with rock pillars that weren't destroyed by his Roar, he'll get knocked back into a mini-groggy state and a portion of his Neutralize Gauge depleted. Otherwise, he'll leap airborne to use Earth Tremor in the middle. This pattern stops being used around Phase 3.
  • Roomwide Roar: Upon reaching 60% of his HP, Itrenok quickly dashes over towards the map's middle section, as he prepares powering up for a AoE-like Roar that includes a large red circle below him. Before he casts the attack, party members are encouraged to constantly attack Itrenok, as this will not only shrink the circle underneath, but reduce the roaring range. Getting hit by the roar inflicts multi-hit Stun (Status).png Stun (Status) damage, and the rock pillars for Pursuit Rush can also be destroyed if the range wasn't lowered down.
  • Limit Break: When Itrenok's HP reaches a certain threshold around 55 - 50% during Phase 1, a progress bar appears on the upper screen that increases by 2% regardless if he's damaged or not, but getting damaged by any of his attacks boosts it by 5% each. Once the bar fills to 100%, he'll begin a series of different Earth Tremor patterns. This will carry over into Phase 2 and stops using this around Phase 3:
    • Strike Down: This one is similar to Gravity Vice's attack from Fiend War. First, he'll stomp the floor that creates several Unstable Ground circles, then goes airborne for a while to target at a random party member until the casting gauge is filled, and he'll drop at whichever position the player was located.
    • Triple Kick: Itrenok begins a series of dealing kicking x-string based attacks by chasing around different party members at least two times, then the third attack follows up with him striking the floor.
    • Bullseye Circle: During this pattern, he'll swap between two different AoE red circles when stomping the floor four times in a row, whether if it's the Bullseye variant with small circles or a Room-wide one, players should time their jumps within the safe-zones to avoid being heavily damaged.

Phase 3 (Raging)

  • Hi-Speed Dash: Itrenok will start zipping around the room, while rocks down crumble from the ceiling. During this pattern, he'll do a series of four Earth Tremors, with the first three attempting to target players, and the fourth one slamming downwards in the middle.

Tips & Strategy

  • While not extremely gimmick-heavy like Ash Core, Numak or Neiser, Itrenok's fight is more focused on paying attention to how he executes Earth Tremor and avoiding several of his AoE-specific patterns.
  • Classes with slower movement speed may find Windmill Spin annoying to deal with, so try taking advantage of invincibility frames or have Buffers use Edification.png Edification (F.Sader) and Hot Affection.png Hot Affection (Enchantress) as a way for avoiding Itrenok if he intends on targeting you.
  • For those who specialize in multi-hits, it's heavily encouraged during Roomwide Roar to easily reduce the pattern's range.
  • For Earth Tremor:
    • The best way to avoid taking damage is to time your jumps correctly, or use Backstep.png Backstep whenever the casting gauge is around 80-90%.
    • Leap.png Leap can be useful for classes that don't have enough jump height.
    • Unstable Ground can be troublesome for those who don't pay attention to the green circles, as this may limit your movement during the fight if hardly any of them are restabilized.
