History

During her past life, Dieuleve was once named Shirley who was sold to a fanatic cult by her hunger-driven parents for ten loaves of bread. Children who were gathered through those means were offered as sacrifices to an ancient demon god named Verato, but Shirley was chosen by him and received those dark blessings. She became outraged upon her survival and vowed vengeance, waiting for that fateful day to come. Shirley couldn't find traces of the girl she used to be from her grown self and felt closer to Verato through the blood of sacrificed children, but it wasn't enough for her union with the demon god.

One day in the midst of her despair, Verato's message came down she replied "Ah, you're right. I can offer more blood through the strength of Kashipa!" Shirley heads to Harlem without hesitation to join Kashipa's ranks, now taking on the holy name bestowed by the demon god, Dieuleve.

As the Adventurer heads into Total Eclipse from Border Town battling Kashipa merchants and saving slaves, they first hear about Dieuleve when spoken to by an elder slave mentioning that she doesn't visit the market very often, but dozens of slaves die every time she does and is powerful as a goddess. Cobb, one of those slaves that the adventurer came across earlier in their journey said that he was going to be sacrificed by Dieuleve who later overhears her voice in another room worshiping her god.

Upon entering, Dieuleve is ordered by Verato to kill the adventurer and bathe in their blood, but loses to them. A Shadowmancer and Low-ranking Summoner appear to see if she is alright, except that she kills those two to fuel her powers, finding their blood sacrifices nasty. Frustrated by the lack of help she's receiving from the demon god, Dieuleve decides to prepare another bloody ritual for him by sacrificing more slaves in the process. She battles the adventurer a second time now morphing into her Pugnator form only to be defeated again, putting an end to the bloodthirsty fanatic's actions.
