Black Purgatory Lore:
Ah... Let me hear you for a little longer.
Your grief and despair.
Your fear and desperation.
Your anguish and pain.
They create beautiful harmony together.
Don't worry, even if you're not a good singer.
Just follow my lead.
Express your emotions through your voice.
Yes, just like that!
Scream! Louder!
I want the most beautiful hymn for Chaos!

History
As an Enemy
Onyx Black makes her debut in the Black Purgatory dungeons, more specifically the third intersection Sub-boss in Outskirts of Roschest, she can also appear in Paradise of Ruin.
Move Set
- Melody: Onyx thrusts her Baton forward that fires out a projectile which can multi-hit damage.
- Teleport: She'll teleport towards a player and launches down an energy blast downwards.
- Spiral Wave: Onyx shoots out from left to right, waves of zigzag roman numeral notes across the entire map.
- Match the Beat: Onyx begins twirling her Baton and as she leviates, she'll play either three or four musical beats in different frequencies. Once this is done, the screen darkens and Onyx begins launching out a series of AoE shockwaves of the same frequency.
- Hymn: Onyx will move to the middle section as she draws out a lot of notes in roman numerals around the map that goes towards her in a counterclockwise motion. Afterwards, she'll end the pattern with a AoE explosion.
- Harmony: As the screens darkens, Onyx starts scattering out seven roman numeral circles around the map, and the entire party sees three notes on top of her head. To cancel out this pattern and get Onyx in her groggy state, players should coordinate by stepping on the matching notes as seen above in a total of three times. If done successfully, Onyx will go groggy for five seconds.
Strategy
- Onyx of the Intersection Trio has very interesting patterns as a musical-motif that aren't nearly as fatal compared to Jade or Venta's, but some do require coordiation to clear her boss fight. Her HP does increase if she's encountered on higher Level Routes, though stronger parties can easily take her down due to low defenses.
- During Harmony, it is fine to go out of order as long as you step on the corresponding circles to match those above Onyx's head. However -- stepping on the wrong notes can result in a AoE shockwave and she won't initiate her groggy.
- Carefully watch for the beat frequencies for Match the Beat when Onyx preparing launching out shockwaves to time your jumps once the pattern begins.
