How have you been? It's so good to see you again. I've heard you've been busy trying to learn some new lance techniques lately. The desire to learn is never a bad thing.
But judging by your expression, you are not satisfied with the results. Is there a problem? Oh I see... so no matter how much you learn, it doesn't feel your own?
Hmm... Maybe you are just accustomed to too many different styles of lance techniques. Spearmanship is just like clothes. There are different styles that fit each and every person. Maybe you can't find the right direction as you are so focused on getting stronger.
However, I may be able to provide some assistance to your troubles. Just ask if you need it.. |

Should we start with why we have raised our lances?
We did it to survive, to fight unjust prosecution, to be free... because cutting off the arms of our enemies is better than losing ours. That's why we raised our lances.
We should not feel guilty, not because we are selfish but because we wish to live and that will has been the only thing that has kept us going until now. However, do you still feel that same earnest desire that kept you going back then?
People like us who lives on the battlefield needs to feel that kind of desperation that we can only see in combat. It's a very classic way but a good way to go back to your original roots. |

The empire used us like tools and only taught us the bare minimum on how to use a lance. Since we are not of noble upbringing, they did not teach us well. It is quite embarassing when someone who has learned real spearmanship looks at us.
However, this is our life and our pride. If you lack the basics, you can fill that with skills and talent.
It is not as advanced compared to the techniques used by the noble knights but the Demonic Lancers have our own very unique skills.
I've closely looked at your skills and they are very free. You don't like being suppressed right? It looks like your personality is reflected in your skill.
So I would like to introduce you to the spearmanship of the Highlanders. It's an old technique but it will fit you very well. Also, you wouldn't need to change your current style.
Do you think you are ready to learn the techniques of the Highlander? It may not be as easy as you think. |

Personally... I would love to see you keep that free-minded spirit of yours. Whether you carry out your revenge against the empire or chase your own dreams, I hope you do not lose your personality.
The word 'Free' is good to hear and better to live by. However, to the Demonic Lancers who died, it was a dream they could not obtain. Live, for the sake of those who have fallen and make your goals a reality. |

Oh you are investigating the strange things that is happening all over Arad? I didn't know there was a job like that. I thought you were only interested in learning and training spear techniques.
Well I guess your goals in life can change in time and I think it's a good change too.
If someone as honored and respected as you, can do good for Arad, then maybe people would be interested in the Demonic Lancer. It's a good opportunity to spread the untold history between the Demonic Lancer and the Empire!
I should help you with something... have you ever heard of the "Durandal"? They are people who are just like you, saving people across Arad.
Oh... so you've heard of them. Have you ever thought about becoming one? If you have, then I'm certain, I can help you. |

Briefing |

The first Durandal was on a class of his own when it came to spear techniques.
He fought and saved countless people from the wrongdoers and the corrupt. Whenever they asked for his identity, he would simply say Durandal and leave without accepting any form of reward. Sounds like your run of the mill goodie two shoes, right?
Well anyways, there were many who were moved by the first Durandal and decided to become his successors. However, he didn't just want some random wannabe to become his successor, so he decided to test them.
In other words, he created an entrance exam. He wanted to learn the skills and personality of those who wanted to take on his name. He wanted to make sure no one would abuse its significance to the people.
The test still exists to this day. You'd better prepare for it thoroughly and it's my job to make sure you are ready and reach your utmost potential. You also have this special skill called the Mirage, so why don't we try upgrading that.
Join the Black Dragon Tournament that's held at the arena in Shonan and collect 30 Black Dragon Energies from the contenders. It will help you in enhancing your mirage techniques.
Before everything else, though, you'll have to beat the contenders of the tournament who are members of the Tower of Despair. They are not to be underestimated. |

By other Demonic Lancers who know the dark origin of their weapons. Despite their shortcomings, Vanguards are natrual born fighters who never back down from a challenge. <Player>, if you're still interested in becoming a Vanguard, then prove your tenacity to me by defeating Dark Troll Chibuka, a powerful monster that has survived the terrible effects of the Great Metastasis." |

How are you? I've heard that there's a Vanguard who really loves to fight, but I didn't think it'd be you. I guess surviving from the Arena alone proves that you are somewhat of a fighter.
Of course, I am on the same boat. I curse the reason why I started to fight but I love it nonetheless. It makes me feel alive.
I know you continue to fight because you enjoy it. But, too much of anything is bad. You feel it too, don't you? Like, not valuing your life while in battle...
The Demonic Lance we possess is not just our own. It is both a blessing and a curse that we must carry but it does not mean we should not value our own life. If you wish to break this uneasy feeling, you are welcome to come talk to me. |

A Demonic Lance gains power from the death of others. You can say we live a life closest to death itself. But does that mean we've overcome death?
I am not talking about immortality. It's more like how you move to survive when on the brink of death.
No matter how well trained you are in battle, when you are fatally wounded and is close to death, it is difficult to move as you like.
But there are those who always come back victorious in these helpless situations. Their will to survive is to be commended.
Do you have that kind of will power to survive? If so, stop feeling sorry for yourself and fight! |

...What? You're asking me about the Warlords without even introducing yourself?
Yes, I know of them. I've met them once. I negotiated a treaty with them to fight against the empire with us. Needless to say, they were effective and terrifying. They are simply obsessed with nothing but fighting.
So why do you ask? Do you plan on fighting them of joining them? Tell me the truth... So you plan to become The Warlord and take the title for yourself! Sigh...
Not only do you plan to take the path where people will look at you with contempt but that is some greedy ambition you have. Well I guess enjoying yourself is more important in life than surviving it.

The Warlords have become powerful weapons of war, they have crushed their enemies in many battles.
They are normally reserved but when they smell a fight in the air, they become ruthless spear wielding monsters even killing their own allies.
Their wildness is unnatural. There's no reason for sudden change in demeanor, especially when they have suppressed the Demonic Lance throughout their entire life.
I believe the energy of Apostle Sirocco is influencing them. I don't know how but it's definitely a scheme planned by the ones that created the Demonic Lance.
They also removed our ability to subconsciously suppress the Demonic Lance increasing its effectiveness but with severe side effects.
Let me make things clear, what you want to do is forcefully remove your ability to suppress the Demonic Lance. The power of the Demonic Lance will increase exponentially but I won't be responsible for what happens to your body.
If you still want that power, then join the Black Dragon Tournament held at the arena in Shonan and collect 30 Black Dragon Energies from the contenders.
