Gameplay & Progression
Phase 1 - Deterrence Operation
When beginning The Meister's Lab, you'll begin at the Gaebolg Launch Pad, and the first task is to battle and neutralize Gaebolg that's under Gizel's control by riding a EF-MK1 Vehicle during this side-scrolling segment by pressing the Z Key near it, as this consists of 1 driver, and 1 anti-aircraft gunner for 2 Vehicles each on 4-Player parties to maneuver around. If playing solo, you'll only be driving while the A.I. handles the shooting. Your character's (and party members') Adventurer Fame will also play a factor in the EF-MK1's overall performance in terms of Attack (Gunner) and Defense (Driver) long as they meet the dungeon's difficulty requirements.
There are Green Boxes that recover your vehicle's HP by 35%, while Red Boxes charges two Missiles for Party-play only, but automatically fires them out by the A.I. during Solo mode since infinite ammo is enabled. Along the way, Eternal Flame members on Motorcycles throwing Grenades, Land Mines, and oncoming rocks during the driving section can damage your vehicle.
In terms of fighting the Gaebolg itself, there are four different parts to shoot at ranging from the Head, Body, Left and Right arms, while using several punching-based attacks, including firing Missiles, a Flamethrower, and Gaebolg Punch to deal damage towards your EF-MK1. If any of those parts that are attacked drop to 0%, Gaebolg is neutralized, and you'll be transported over to the Meister's Lab shortly. Phase 1 can be optionally skipped over through speaking with Meister Curio, but doing so will not offer any benefits received from specific destroyed Gaebolg parts.
Phase 2 - Infiltration Operation
Upon entering the Lab, Meister Curio will inform you about which part was destroyed (if chosen to fight Gaebolg), as this greatly weakens and debuffs a specific Boss Monster's overall fight (Excluding GB-1 Haps) when encountering them; (Head - Identität, Torso - Stark, Right Arm - Energie, Left Arm - Dirigent), though with one of each Arm part destroyed, you can obtain access to the Elevator on either side to make traversing the Lab much easier. Like with Destroyed Castle of the Dead, there is no specific order on which Boss needs to be defeated first, as they'll stay in the same location regardless of each dungeon run. The main objective is to confront Gizel and take him down, thus completing the mission.
Security System
Whenever a Boss Monster is defeated, the Lab's security system will go off and increases the Monsters' overall attack by 1 level each. On either of the Lab's Mid - Upper levels, there are warning (⚠) signs located where you're able to hack into a computer that's flashing red, and interacting with it starts up a hacking sequence which is very identical to Snow White Tagor's Berserk pattern from Pandemonium War.
Upon a successful security hack, the system's level goes down by one stage, mobs are instantly killed, and the drones that float above will instead aid you by summoning a missile bombardment when entering a Boss Monster's room that can damage their Neutralization Gauge. This can also cause an Functional Error effect that's stackable towards Bosses in which, they not only gain an Attack boost, but lowered Defenses as a trade-off. Failing a hack sequence does not cause any penalties.
