GB-1 Haps (Korean:GB-1 햅스 GB-1 Herz) is the final boss of The Meister's Laboratory. It is Gizel Logan who has transplanted The Abyss within his own technology and taken control of the 'Gaebolg' Project.

Lore

The Meister's Lab Lore Excerpt:

Early in the morning, somewhere in the Meister’s Laboratory. An old man with unkempt bushy hair moved about busily. In front of him was a mech with two massive wheels. It was almost completed. The sound of footsteps behind him grew closer. The old man didn’t bother to look as he spoke.

“Heh heh, so why are you here again?”

“Gizel, how are you doing with your plans?”

A beautiful feminine voice. It was familiar, yet strange. It sent chills down Gizel’s spine. Gizel’s madness was apparent, but hers... Whatever she had inside her, it was too heavy and profound to be called madness. Gizel shook his head, dismissing these unnecessary thoughts, and looked at Eldirh.

“Eldirh, you know that changing history is no easy feat.”

“I do, and whether or not it needs to be changed is still up for debate.”

“Hah hah. There you go again. I’ve proved everything to you. What else should I do to earn your trust?”

Eldirh looked down at Gizel. His eyes were thin slits like a snake expressing its displeasure. He was from the future. Not everyone could travel through time. This old man in front of her had proved everything to her, but the most fundamental question remained unanswered.

Should I listen to him and change history to realize the Prophecy of the New Genesis?

Yes, Gizel had proved the validity of his information, just by knowing who she truly was. There were only a few people in Empyrean who were aware of who she really was. Still, she couldn’t completely trust him.

“The person you told me about. Will they really come here?”

“Who? Ah, the Adventurer.”

Gizel spat the words and turned his head away as if to hide his feelings. Gizel, despite his madness, was coolheaded and calculating, but he lost his calm whenever this Adventurer was mentioned. That bothered Eldirh. Emotions had no place in what she was planning to do.

Gizel quietly went back to work. Eldirh watched him working on the mech that he was creating to change the future. The unsolved question came back to her mind. Is listening to him and changing the course of history part of the Prophecy?

Neither Eldirh nor Gizel could answer that question. Only time would tell. For now, every moment was new and couldn’t be predicted.

They wanted to change history. Of course, their enemies would want to stop them.

Only time would tell where this series of events would lead them.

Move Set

Phase 1

  • Charging Gaebolg: During the beginning of Phase 1, there is a timer bar below that slowly charges up while Haps is in a stationary position. If this bar gets completely filled, he'll go back into the Gaebolg's core and launches out numerous lighting bolts that results with an insta-kill party wipe. To prevent this pattern from starting, players must reduce Haps's HP down to 70% before 130 seconds (2 minutes) goes by.
  • Saw Blade Wheel: Haps launches out a Wheel from either the upper or lower position of his mecha that retracts like a boomerang.
  • Missile Bombarding: Haps can fire down a volley of Missiles to bombard the ground. On Master Difficulty, these Missiles will instead fire within a straight line.
  • Drones: A pair of Blue or Pink drones appear that cannot be damaged by normal means, but if hit by any of Haps' attacks, they offer a 5-second buff residue on the ground; the Blue Residue Buff gives a 30% speed boost, while the Pink Residue Buff offers a 10% damage increase. Upon Reaching Phase 2, these Drones are infused with Abyss Energy that can inflict a debuff towards anyone's Attack/Movement/Casting Speed who steps into those purple circles.
  • Wheel Rush: Haps collapses into a wheel and dashes over to the other side of the map after 25 seconds have gone by.
  • Abyss Transplant: Once Haps reaches 70% HP or lower, he'll prepare to enter his Phase 2 battle.

Phase 2

  • Jump Tracker: Haps will try to randomly target at player's position with a red circle underneath and hops at them to attack.
  • Wielding Chainsaw: He'll jump towards the map's upper left or right corner, then begins swinging his Chainsaw in a circular clockwise motion downwards. Then, he'll bump into the lower corner and becomes stunned for a few seconds.
  • Abyss Laser Shot: The Drones that Haps summons out can fire out a row of Laser Beams when he's on either the left or right side.
  • Black Sphere: Haps hops over to the left side and fire outs a black energy sphere at the right, and he'll try to move over towards the sphere to destroy it with his Wielding Chainsaw, which causes AoE explosion damage towards anyone. To stop this pattern, simply destroy the sphere's HP bar before he reaches it first.

Berserk:

  • Gaebolg Docking ----> Abyssal Watch: Around 40% of his HP, Haps prepares to dock back into Gaebolg's main core with a timer bar below. While this is going, players can still deal damage to him as he continues using various patterns before the bar fills up, and he begins to initiate Abyssal Watch. Once Haps enters Gaebolg, he'll create a large purple clock board underneath party members as the hands rapidly rotate in a total of five times. During the rotation portion, there will be five green indicators to show safe-zone areas where everyone can step into to prevent getting heavily damaged by abyss-powered lightning strikes that'll drop at certain intervals in non-safe sections inside the clock. Once the pattern ends, Haps jumps out of Gaelbog's core in a groggy state for a few seconds before repeating his patterns again.
