Lore

Ozma Raid Lore Excerpt:

The woman climbed the tower that once was called the Eye of Elerinon or the Symbol of Knowledge. She stood on the top of it and looked down at the city beneath her.

"Ah... Finally, I'm on your holy land."

Her admiration was quickly interrupted. A loud grating noise was heard and then, the tower vibrated under her feet as if by an earthquake. Something huge rose, covering the sky and the land and everything else in between. A gigantic centipede had climbed the tower, wrapping itself around it. When it reached the top, its massive head rose above her own.

Charrrggghhh.

Its scales rubbed against each other, creating a hair-raising sound. Anyone else would have been terrified by this sight and run the other way. She just looked up with fascination in her eyes. The centipede examined her for a while, and then quietly lowered its head. Having understood the significance of this, she was deeply moved. Slowly, she stepped toward the creature.

"You're Empernoir... the First Imposter...! Chaos, I accept your oracle."

The energy of Chaos washed over her. Every time she took a step, thick chunks of impure energy fell off around her, leaving her feeling refreshed and renewed. By the time she stepped onto the centipede's head, she had been freed from all of the burden. With her atop its head, the centipede coiled itself around the tower all the way to the top. She looked down at the scenery beneath her, beautifully tainted by the energy of Chaos.

"Dear Chaos, as your oracle, I'll make sure everyone in the world receives your messages."

The centipede's roar reverberated throughout the Dark Side.

Move Set

  • Bite: Empernoir deals a close-ranged bite attack.
  • Claw Rake: Empernoir slams it's claws down on the floor and retracts them backwards.
  • Green Poison Bomb: Jade fires out a volley of these poison bombs that land on the floor, creating swamp puddles that'll deal both low damage and inflicts a Slow status if anyone steps on one, these puddles can also explode afterwards.
  • Purple Poison Bomb: Jade can also fire out four purple poison bombs at a player to damage them.
  • Ground Slam: Jade has Empernoir target a player's position to slam it's head onto the floor as not only will the swamp puddles from Green Poison Bombs explode, then Jade uses her whip to launch out numerous AoE Purple Poison Bombs.
  • Rush: Empernoir dashes over to an opposite side of the room and begans blasting out an AoE purple flame breath from it's mouth.
  • Inhale: Jade has Empernoir open it's mouth to inhale all party members over to it's position and slams down, then it'll inhale a second time to deal a potentially fatal Bite attack afterwards.

Strategy

  • During the beginning of Phase 1, Elinos does not appear for awhile until 5 minutes have gone by and once it spawns, either Red, Yellow or Green parties can enter to defeat Jade and make sure the Raid's progress isn't interrupted.
  • Empernoir's patterns are easily telegraphed and avoidable with red indicators showing where it'll attack.
  • Stay underneath Jade and Empernoir after the Rush pattern is finished to avoid being killed by the purple flames.
  • For Inhale:
    • Take advantage of the puddles left behind by Green Poison Bombs positing yourself when Empernoir gets ready to slam down for the second inhale that immobilzes you and allies alike.
    • EX Evasion by pressing the TAB key is another useful tool for getting out of the biting rage.
    • The Enchantress' Black Forest Brier.png Black Forest Brier is very helpful for preventing a potential party wipe.
  • Jade's role in Ozma Raid plays out very similiarly to the former Naval Cannon Defense back in Anton Raid where if Elinos is left ignored, she'll began sending out a total of three Revelations within a time limit that'll affect everyone regardless of the dungeon they're in:
    • 1st Revelation: Green & Purple Poison Bombs drops from the sky.
    • 2nd Revelation: All Monsters gain an increase in defenses.
    • 3rd Revelation: Phase 1's entire progress is completely reset.
  • Since Jade has no Berserk or Incapacitate, most parties often opt to burst her down upon entry so have the Buffers to deploy their Apocalypse (Male Crusader).png Apocalypse/Final Judgment.png Final Judgment, Crux of Victoria.png Crux of Victoria/Laus di Angelus.png Laus di Angelus, Marionette (Enchantress).png Marionette/Curtain Call.png Curtain Call and burst her down with your strongest skills.
