Drop Skull Kane, Card and scroll.

Description

He looks like a Fallen Guardian from Hell Mode, except equipped with Evil Sword Apophis. He spawns in the 4th room of the Screaming Cavern.

Move List

  • Teleportation. If you are standing on the yellow circle and is stunned, Skull Kane can teleport over to the middle of the circle in a flash of blood similar to that of Outrage Break's, which deals 1 damage, and attack you.
  • Slash Wave. This has fairly large X-axis range and does a decent amount of damage..
  • A yellow circle spawns as you enter the room. Be careful not to touch this circle, as it stuns you for a fairly long amount of time. This stun effect applies even if you are within an invincibility status. It would be wise to bring Stun Recovery Potions.
  • When low on health, Skull Kane will summon 4 purple-grayish flames. These flames will follow you around the room for some time, then fall onto the ground, and explode. Jump to avoid, as this attack does a lot of damage.
  • Basic attack. He will stab you with Evil Sword Apophis. This move throws you back quite far.

Strategy

  • The best way to avoid the circle is to have a party member lure it away, especially the one with high movement speed. If you are alone, it is best to employ hit-and-run attacks against Skull Kane.
  • Most of Skull Kane's attacks are long range and apply only to the X-axis. Stay out of the X-axis and avoid the circle, you should be fine.
  • Use ranged attacks such as Asura's Asura Spirit Crescent, they are the most effective.

Notes / Oddities

  • He is very heavy for a skeleton, and can barely be launched.
  • Spawns a Haste Fairy and a Blessing Fairy upon death.
  • Skull Kane also heals a few bars of health each time a summon disappears. It would be wise to not summon any APC's or summons in this room.
