- Raikiri is Japanese for "Lighting Cutter".
- The name comes from a famous sword that was wielded by Tachibana Dōsetsu of Japan's Sengoku period originally called Chidori which cut the thunder god inside of a lightning bolt after being struck by one and survived, later renaming it.
