Given the lore of the Grim Seekers and a video of one of the Epic Quests in which we see Azalea Lott's murdered body left to rot in the Castle of the Dead, I wouldn't be surprised if the men and women of the Apostle-following faction are behind the murder. Even if they weren't, why would they? (Not to mention, that they would be afflicted with a curse of murder and spiritually oppressed by demons of murder.)
UPDATE: Judging from the dialogue of the murderers, it's unclear which faction is behind the murder.
