Shattering Rodos
Contents
Description
This golden golem was left lying asleep in the Golem Tower after losing its puppeteer, who provided it the mana it needed for its operation. It woke up when it felt Sirocco's energy generated from the pentacles that the Grim Seekers had drawn. Rodos, its already indestructible body further enhanced by the Apostle's energy, has become an incredibly destructive force that only fights following its new mistress's will.
Lore
Lore Excerpt:
The power that took away my golden body has given me legs to walk with.
The power that took away my freedom has given me a weapon to wield.
The power that has occupied the Sky Tower has given me mana to command.
However, the power that has really awakened me is in my heart, which was so red, once upon a time.
Anger. Self-pity. Resentment. Hatred.
Thing that rendered me helpless have hardened, filling the void inside me.
When the power of the Tower vanished, I was left to starve and turn into an empty husk.
But now I'm filled with the burning emotions inside me that shield me like armor.
Now I destroy.
Intruders of my tower,
you'll regret ever underestimating me. [1]
Move Set
- Hammer Swing: He'll perform a basic wide swing attack with his hammer that's capable of knocking players away at close range.
- Shoulder Tackle: Similar to Isys's One Inch Punch, Rodos does a close ranged tackle that can push players towards the wall upon contact.
- Advance: By targeting a random player, Rodos immediately charges at them that not only pushes them back, but can also break super armor.
- Ascension: Rodos prepares to jump into the sky as he knocks down party members and attempts to strike them with his hammer after landing downwards. To avoid being damaged, use Quick Rebound as soon as possible before he lands.
- Burial: Rodos charges up with a magic circle infront of him as he suctions in party members to smash them. There are two outcomes upon being hit and buried:
- Escapable Burial lets the player free themselves by mashing keys on their keyboard.
- Inescapable Burial has those party members stuck inside the ground with Help above their head. This requires freed players to stand next to them for at least 3 seconds or more to rescue them.
Strategy
- Despite wielding slow, yet strong telegraphed patterns, Rodos himself is not very difficult to fight.
- Rodos acts like a shield towards Vita/Nex. Each time The Castle of Phantasm / Phantasm of the Castle is cleared by Green and Yellow parties, both Vita & Nex can receive a 40% damage that stacks up to 200% when the bar is full as this could be considered a way of lower their defenses.
- Due to changed Raid strategies in Phase 1, Castles are often skipped and players can receive an title achievement as a result.
- Try not to cast any skills when he uses Ascension.
- Use Bullet Time during Burial to rescue pinned down party members and prevent Rodos from constantly attacking them as this can result in a party-wipe.
