Item Shop
The Item Shop is a feature in which you use NX Cash to buy items. Items sold are unobtainable through game play, and are unique items with special functions. You can buy Avatar Tokens purchased in the Item Shop to operate the avatar-generating machines for avatar items. Avatar items are used for bonus stats and to change the appearance of your character, or can be traded/sold to other players.
Item Shop
There are three ways to enter the Item Shop:
- Click "Item Shop" in the Service Menu at the bottom of the screen.
- Click on the Item Shop machine, located between Pungjin and Canna in Hendon Myre.
- Click your hotkey for the Item Shop (Default: T).
All items in the Item Shop cannot be traded.
NX Cash
NX Cash is the virtual currency used throughout Nexon America's games. As the money is charged to your account, they can be used in all of the games that Nexon America offers, without the need to transfer from game to game. Nexon cash is non-refundable and expires a year after it's purchase, and is obtainable through Prepaid Game Cards (known in-game as NX Prepaid) and PayPal/PayByCash (known in game as NX Credit). NX cash can be bought in 5,000, 10,000 and 30,000 amounts through PayPal and PayByCash (with 1000 NX being 1USD), or in 10,000 and 25,000 amounts through prepaid means.
- Nexon has been having problems with NX Credit options, so they recommend using NX Prepaid instead.

Avatar Bazaar
Avatar items are worn by your character to cover the default appearance. Each avatar item has a stat boost attributed to it, with each type having a set of attributes that can be added. Avatar items are obtained at the Avatar Bazaar. The Avatar Bazaar is where Avatar Tokens (which are purchased in the Avatar section of the Item Shop) are used to operate the Avatar machines. To select which class you want to get an avatar for, you must click on one of the machines.
To use the machine, select the type of avatar item you want (hat, hair, face, top, bottom, waist, torso, shoes, skin) by clicking the tabs below the 'models'. Then, click the yellow dial and wait for an item to be generated. In order to equip these items, you can either right-click the item or drag it onto one of the nine avatar slots. Out of the Avatar Bazaar, the avatar inventory can be opened by pressing U or by clicking the Avatar tab in your inventory.
- Players that use NX Credit are restricted from buying Avatar Tokens for characters under level 30.

Bonus Chart
The following chart displays the possible bonuses for each type of item. Each avatar item will contain one bonus, not all of them (except for Skins, which will have both a Physical or a Magical damage reduction and bonus Hit Recovery). Premium Avatars are special avatars obtained through events. They have slightly better stats than Advanced Avatars and slightly worse stats than Rare avatars, but it still shares some of the same stats as Advanced Avatars such as Casting Speed and Attack Speed.
Each avatar item has a rarity (Normal, Advanced or Rare). Each avatar item will have a specific rarity, so if an item is "Advanced", an item of the same name will not be "Normal" or "Rare". For example, the Death Nightna Hair would be classified as a "Advanced" item, and all Death Nightna Hairs (prior to their removal) would have all had one of the "Advanced" effects. It is possible to mix Advanced avatars of different sets to attain the set bonus.
Rare Avatars are currently not implemented in DFO.

Set Effects
For Advanced and Rare avatars, there will be set bonuses available if you have 3, 5 or 8 items of the same rarity (so 3, 5 or 8 Advanced Items would be considered a set). Sets include the Hat, Hair, Face, Torso, Top, Pants, Waist and Shoes, as skins don't have a rarity. To see what the set-effects are in-game, put your cursor over a Advanced or Rare item, and it will list the set bonuses. You may have more than 1 set bonus, so by having a set of 8, you will also have the bonuses from the sets of 3 and 5.
