Description

Vangelis is the boss of GBL Hatchery. He's most likely the most difficult boss you'll face up to this point in the game.

Move List

• Casts a slow moving purple energy ball that inflicts shadow damage to anything it touches.
• Summons various GBL type enemies found in the Temple of Apostasy dungeons.
• Summons the Ministers of Dawn, Twilight, Shadow and Light.
• Summons Hughton, the King of Destruction, a ridiculously strong level 52. Monk

Strategy

• The first thing you'll want to do is to kill every other enemy in the room, as they may get in your way while you are fighting Vangelis.
• The first time you bring Vangelis' health down to 1/3, he will become temporarily invincible and summon a mob consisting of the various GBL Zealot type enemies found in the Temple of Apostasy dungeons. During this time, Vangelis begins a countdown (from 10). If you do not kill the GBL enemies by the time Vangelis finishes the countdown, each one left alive will sacrifice itself to heal Vangelis for 10,000 HP and buff his stats (slightly), including HP Regeneration, attack, and defence. Thus, it is advised that you quickly kill all the GBL enemies before they can donate their life to Vangelis.
• The second time you bring Vangelis' health down to 1/3, he will become temporarily invincible again. This time, he summons the Minsters of Dawn, Twilight, Shadow and Light, and begins another countdown. When he finishes the countdown, he will summon Hughton, the King of Destruction, to destroy you.
• You'll want to focus solely on Vangelis: By this time his health should already be very low. Killing Vangelis automatically kills every other enemy on the screen as well.
• Avoid combat with Hughton, as he can easily take off half your life in one attack.
• Use grabs often - Vangelis has rather fast hit recovery: He may be able to attack you with a super armored melee attack while you are comboing him.
• Keep Vangelis in the air if possible, as he cannot counter-attack or summon Minions while in the air.

Notes / Oddities

• Vangelis has very fast HP regeneration, much faster than most of the other bosses you've fought up to this point. He may outheal your damage output if you do not keep the pressure on him.
• Each time he finishes his countdown, he may cast Bless on himself to further amplify his stats. There's nothing much you can do about this, though.
• Vangelis' melee attacks are very powerful, have deceptively long range, grants him Super Armor on attacking, and launches you high into the air if it connects. Inflicts shadow damage as well.
• The Ministers and Hughton are summoned with the same amount of life Vangelis has at the start of the battle: Trying to kill all of them is both time-consuming and dangerous.
• Vangelis may glitch and summon multiple Ministers if you allow him to regenerate his health. The more Ministers he summons, the more impossible it is to win.
