The Battle Mage is a Mage who prefers the full-contact satisfaction of combat and attacks with close-range weapons and spells. However, being of diminutive stature, her magical powers manifest as defensive Chasers, magical spheres infused with various elemental properties that serve as a powerful buffer between her and the relentless barrage of enemy attacks. The Battle Mage is fast, possesses superhuman fighting skills and is the only Mage able to master weaponry. At level 48, the Battle Mage awakens as the Bellatrix.

Her second-class feature is a set of gloves and a different posture.

Becoming the Battle Mage

The Mage must first reach level 18.

  1. Clear Graquarak with 70 style points or higher.
  2. Clear Burning Graquarak under 7 minutes.
  3. Clear Shadow Thunderland alone on expert road or higher.

Basic Strategies/Builds

Although specialized in melee attacking, Chasers provides the magic attack to back physical attack up, hence the name "Battle Mage"

Normal attack patterns will be changed to a special Battle Mage motion, if you are playing other mages it may be disturbing

1st part: Dragon Fang motion ( very far reach)

2nd part: Falling Flower Fist motion ( goes forward, shorter reach than the 1st part but the movement makes up for it, if you hold the movement key to the opposite direction you are facing you will not move forward, very good at adjusting your range with your enemy's range)

3rd part: Homerun motion ( large range of attack, easy to hit multiple enemies which can be easily gathered with the first 2 hits)

Even though the motions are changed to skill like motions, it is NOT the skill itself

Jump power is lowered so you will not fly as high, Jump speed is increased however

When you miss with a dash attack you no longer fall down, which makes it much better to use

Normal attack with chasers will make very easy combos

Fighting with chaser is the fundamental of battlemages, if you don't fight with them, don't be a battlemage( it is possible to be pure physical battlemage which uses the buffs from chasers to their advantage, usually light for buffing attack speed or fire for buffing strength)

Bigger chasers do higher damage, combos will make chasers grow

A huge variety of cancel skills, it is possible to fight without shooting chasers to conserve MP

Very nice defense compared to other mage jobs, leather armor helps

Only mage job that can obtain over level 5 of Aura Shield without equipments, VERY good for defense in PVP, it makes leather armor feel like heavy armor

Aura Shield consumes MP, you must conserve your skills/chasers if you don't want to run out

Due to the basis of battlemage, "hitting the enemies in the air", "punching the enemies away from you", "down the enemy" is the main style

Which is why it is terrible against things that cannot be downed, eg. Striker, Berserker, Launcher

Battlemage will have to beware of playstyle between partying and soloing, gathering monsters may not be the right case in every party situations, you may have to make do with a few and just destroy them for firepower in the party, don't run around trying to gather everything.
