Using Mathematical Expressions for Skill Pages

Hey Bah Wikier, welcome back. I've noticed that you've been updating quite a few of the F. Priest (Shaman) skill pages recently.

Just so you know, you don't have to put all the values on one page. Inputting all the values on a page can be painstakingly mind-numbing, and becomes cumbersome when the Neople team adds a balance patch. You can use a mathematical expression instead; it will save you a lot time and prevent frustration later.

For reference, you can look at the Agent Skill Pages.

Out of curiosity, where did those formulas come from? Are they estimations made by players?

12:05, 23 September 2018

Kinda. The formulas can be found manually in game with a little bit of mathematics.

For most percentage values it goes as follows:

For all values of n >= 1 (with n being the current skill's level):

Base Level 1 Percentage Value + Per Level Multiplier*(n-1)%

For Fixed Damage attacks it works pretty much the same way, just requires a lot more code...

For a more precise estimation for the Per Level Multiplier, I usually use the highest possible values and use a little algebra to solve for the multiplier.

12:30, 23 September 2018

So fixed damage skills are like:

(fixed damage * independent attack) + (independent level multiplier * independent attack)*(n-1);

12:34, 23 September 2018

Not exactly. It would be: (Skill's Level 1 Fixed Damage/Your Independent Attack) + (Independent Attack Level Multiplier) * (n-1)

To solve for the Independent Attack Level Multiplier: Let's treat the 'Independent Attack Level Multiplier' as 'X' and 'n' as the skill's current level.

X = ((Skill's highest possible Fixed Damage/Your Independent Attack) - (The Skill's Level 1 Fixed Damage/Your Independent Attack))/(n-1)

OR

X = (Skill's highest possible fixed damage - Skill's Level 1 Fixed Damage)/(Your Independent Attack * (n-1))

Also, we do have template to calculate the Ratio for Independent Attack called AbsoluteDamage.

So something like: {{AbsoluteDamage|472|472}} + {{AbsoluteDamage|47|472}}*(n-1)

Hey there, we updated the format for the skill tables a few months ago. Please refer to Skill Table Format for more details. Using the mathematical equations, it auto generates a table for the skills.

Origin Quests

Hey Bah Wikier. Do you want to split the work load for updating the new Origins quests? I'm asking because I don't want to impose on any of the pages you are currently working on.

09:53, 27 February 2018

I haven't done much yet. In my completed quest book in game the drop down menus don't work and they don't have titles. Makes me wonder how soon they'll fix that. How would you want to split the work load?

What I'm wondering about is that there is overlap between Dungeons, Towns, and NPCs between the origins and metastasis campaign. Do we create separate pages for Origins/Metastasis/Pre-Metastasis, or are we going to have the origins content at the top and keep the older content below it on the same page?

10:01, 27 February 2018

I'm having the same issue at the moment as well.

For work load I'm not too sure. Do you want split them by level/area? I have characters literally at every level range, so I can make due with whatever. I just hope that majority of the Pandemonium and Power Station quests remained the same. I've also noticed some slight differences in Ghent and Time Gate quests; hopefully not too much changes there. The most problematic one is probably going to be Mirror Arad.

Let's try not keep older content on the same page. It would get too lengthy. I guess we could name the pages similar to the older ones such as "Grand Flores (Epic Quests) - Origin"?

10:19, 27 February 2018

As for the naming of areas, because my quest log doesn't list the names, what will we be naming or dividing quests by? I can still see the level numbers listed (such as 1, 17, 24). Are we just going to have to wait for them to fix it before we start updating the wiki?

10:25, 27 February 2018

They probably are not going to fix it, or it's not going to be top priority since it isn't necessarily game breaking. We can just name the separate quests by the main area that it's in. (Ex: Grand Flores, Sky Tower, Aphelia Post, etc.) but with some kind of suffix to indicate the type of quest.

Skill MP tooltip

While editing the skills for the Lightbringer I've noticed something: MP cost for skills changes based on character level. As character increases level, eventually the MP costs of skills will change. Is there a tooltip similar to AbsoluteDamage that tells us what the MP cost of a skill is independent of character level?

11:46, 29 December 2017

I never did like MP as part of the skill chart since it could be affected by so many things. I'd prefer to leave it out but as a compromise, similar to skills that have 'Abnormal Status Damage' that also scale with your level, we could throw in the values at Max Lv and mention it in the notes.

Noticed any quest changes?

Hey Bah wikier. Did you notice any changes in Quest exp/gold or rewards from this past patch? So far, I wasn't able to identify any significant alterations other than the adding of Side Ancient Quests to the Epic quest line and their change of exp/gold. I'm not quite sure if I missed anything. Would you care to offer a second opinion?

Thanks again for your help. Just tell me if you need help with any pages.

I haven't noticed anything so far. Mostly I've been checking out otherverse. Ozma got changed a lot.

Thanks for your hard work!

Hey Bah wikier, thanks for your hard work adding the quest dialogues. I haven't been able to find the time to update the pages as of late. You are doing this wiki a great service.

If you need help with anything, just ask. :)

Anyway, I've noticed that some of the Iced Wall Epic Quests have dialogue that go off the dialogue box. If you find any, be sure to leave a note or inform me about it. I have all the quest line data recorded, but haven't had the time to fill all of it out. I usually just have the time to fill in the basic quest requirements. I can fill the briefing out if any of it is missing, if required. Also, one of the quests doesn't show up in the Epic Quest book, I'll fill that one out too.

Seconded. I often come to this wiki for lore purposes. You quest text is a great help!
