Overview

The impact of the duel between Soldoros and Kasijas has destroyed Zelva and the Castle of the Dead.

Inside the half-sliced Castle of the Dead, Luke's creations, which were believed to have stopped functioning after his death, can still be found. How are they moving on their own? What else might be in there? A world-shaking conspiracy is about to reveal itself.

  • The run is also considered a failure if 30 Minutes goes by.

Gameplay & Progression

Destroyed Castle of the Dead's Map layout.

Upon entering the Destroyed Castle of the Dead, it's progression is very similar to that of The Oculus: The Sanctum of Resurrection, in which either you or a 4-person party's main objective is to traverse through what seems to be a extended version of Heblon's Altar by fighting off Luke's creations in various maps that have been mysteriously brought back to life by Gizel sometime after the Apostle's death. Except for Abyss Walker, the other 4 Boss Monsters, alongside the numerous items that can be found throughout the Destroyed Castle are randomized per run.

Reaching and defeating Abyss Walker will end your mission for Destroyed Castle of the Dead.

Buffs & Debuffs

  • When you've cleared a map of Monsters, this will result in casting either a Green Buff, or Purple Debuff in the selected map that comes in either a + or - value. The applied effect will be displayed at the bottom of your Status Board and lasts as long as the number displayed along with it, and this number decreases every time you clear a map, but it doesn't decrease when you re-enter the maps that you've already cleared.
  • Green Buffs can casts beneficial effects that can help you against Monsters.
  • Purple Debuffs are the polar opposite where they casts harmful effects which not only can give you a disadvantage, but in turn also benefits Monsters.
  • The + or - on either Buff/Debuff can increase it's effects, such at obtaining a Max HP/MP+++ offers a 40% value increase, while a Effect Retention--- can lower buffs values and doubles it's debuff duration.

Green Buff Effects

  • Skill Attack Increase (10 - 30%)
  • Faster Movement/Attack/Casting Speed (25 - 50%)
  • Higher Max HP/MP Values (20 - 40%)
  • Lower Skill Cooldown (10 - 30%]
  • Add Flame Attack - Fire Damage Boost.png Fire Element is granted, with 500.0 times the effect when damaging Normal monsters.
  • Lowered Enemy Attack Damage
  • Lowered Enemy Elemental Resistance (10 - 30%)
  • Effect Retention - Raises the currently equipped Buffs Duration number. (1 - 3 depending on the + value)
  • Skill Reset - Resets certain Buffs that last used. (1 - 3 depending on the + value)

Purple Debuff Effects

  • Add Abnormal Status Attack - Allows Normal or Boss Monsters to inflict a random status when attacking. (I.E Bleeding (Status).png Bleeding (Status))
  • Effect Retention - Raises the Debuff Duration that were equipped.
  • Intrusion Response - Activates the Castle Defense System that fires laser beams at players. (- increases the Battle amount)

Special Functions

  • There are Star Icons placed around the map, these offer different functions that can only be used once per run to whoever picks one up.
